Conditions toniques pour cette entrée en matière: 15 à 20 noeuds de vent orienté Nord.

Bertrand a pri un départ prudent à bord du Le Gall-Menguy. La route est longue, il le sait et il faut ménager sa monture. Il y a déjà eu  un peu de casse parmis les favoris. C'est le cas de Adria Mobil qui a percuté un bateau spectateur et a endommagé une de ses dérives. Tout comme Areas, skippé par François Salabert qui a du effectuer un retour au port.

A 14h Bertrand se situait en 21 position de sa catégorie sur une trajectoire plus au Nord que la flotte. Ce n'est que le début de la course.

Bertrand has started by a careful departure. He knows that the road is long, and that his « horse » should be be spared. There was already some little failure for some favourites. It is the case of Adria Mobil which struck a boat spectator and damaged one of its drifts. Just like Areas, drived by François Salabert who has to return to the harbour.

At 14h Bertrand was located as 21^th in its category on a trajectory more at North that the fleet. It is only the beginning of the race.
